Our Science curriculums at Harvest International school aim to help the student develop basic scientific ideas and understand the biological, physical and chemical aspects of the world.

The curriculums are written by leading authors of science resources in the UK. They are designed to meet our students’ needs and structured in an easy way to foster positive attitudes toward science, and encourage them to examine how science affects their lives.

Macmillan Science
Curriculum

The primary school science curriculum (Macmillan) offers six levels from grade 1 to grade 6.

Comprehensive Resource

It is designed to provide the students with, Science Pupil Book, Science Workbook, CD-ROM.

Structured Content Standards:

  1. Living Things and Human Body
  2. Materials
  3. Energy and Forces
  4. Astronomy

Check Point
Cambridge

Lower Secondary Level (Grade 7-9)

The lower secondary level curriculum is Cambridge check point (from grade 7 to grade 9). It focuses on developing confidence and interest in scientific knowledge. Also, it includes environmental awareness and history of science. It is divided into four parts:

  1. Biology (human biology, microorganisms, animals, plants and food.)
  2. Chemistry (classification of substances, matter, atomic structure, reactions…)
  3. Physics (force, energy, magnetism and electricity)
  4. Earth and space.

Learning Approach

Our students create new knowledge and learn scientific concepts that involve:

  • Constructing hypothesis
  • Predicting
  • Planning and carrying out investigations
  • Recording and analyzing results
  • Discussing findings.

Science fair

This event is held at Harvest International School and it’s an event where our students get the opportunity to showcase their knowledge regarding a specific subject. It is to encourage and help them learn scientific methods and to make science relevant to everyday life.

Science laboratory

Our science lab offers various opportunities for our students to think creatively and explore their interest in science. They get to conduct, together with their teacher, different experiments and activities according to our curriculum.
